Preparing for your pilgrimage – Terrain, weather and safety
The walking terrain varies across each section. Much of the route is over stony roads and tracks, so stout shoes or walking boots are recommended at all times.
Weather changes very quickly in our island setting, and so you are advised to carry suitable waterproof clothing at all times. Much of the route is over moorland in the centre of the island where the views are spectacular, but the windchill can be marked. Please prepare well for your pilgrimage.
